We are looking for an accountable Implementation Engineer to be responsible for supporting strategic multi-million projects related to grid modernization. Our Implementation Engineer will support the Professional Services team in scheduling, planning, developing, and implementing all the technical activities aiming at assuring project accuracy and quality from initiation to closure and support.
Who are you?
You are energetic, and resourceful Implementation Engineer with exceptional attention to detail and time-management skills. You decided to get an Engineering degree because you want to make the real difference in the world by solving complicated problems.
What will our new Implementation Engineer work on?
- Support development of power system analytics and analysis involving the integration of distributed energy resources.
- Be involved in microgrid controls development by supporting the deployment of residential microgrids involving solar and storage.
- Supporting the customers needs as they implement Opus One’s GridOS software suite
Develop and conduct acceptance testing plans (FAT, SAT, UAT) for hardware and software technology validation and project integration.Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support.
- Support the development of Opus One testing facilities.
- Support networking and IT infrastructure development for project integration.
Develop the design and documentation required to facilitate the safe and effective delivery of a project.
Interact with the clients to interpret their needs and requirements and representing them in the field.
Here’s what you bring:
The education. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering related programs.
The Experience. You have 3+ years’ of hands-on experience in utility-scale solar, storage, micro-grid, protection, control, and IT systems integration – ADMS, DERMS, SCADA, historians, GIS, IT networking etc.
Customer/Client Orientation. You strive to provide customers/clients with personalized and efficient service while anticipates their needs and quickly follows up on contacts and queries.
Information Seeking guru. While doing your research, you can consult widely for business or technical advice, probe for facts and obtain information from a wide variety of sources. You can easily differentiate the critical from the irrelevant or trivial.
Communication skills. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and ability to create comprehensive technical documents. Strong public speaking, persuasion and presentation skills.
Initiative. You are proactive in seizing opportunities and eager to act upon them immediately. You are serious about taking responsibility for your actions and love to address problems before asked.
Nice to have:
Industry background. You have electric utility or utility consulting experience with the ability to bridge utility IT/OT convergence challenges with an in-depth understanding of energy policy and utility regulatory environment.
P.Eng. designation. P.Eng. designation is an asset but aplication is open for EIT's as well.
